EM – eMobility

Privat

For private customers, an electrically powered vehicle, of any kind, is a great way of using solar power for daily routines.

It is not only an economical solution, but the very future of mobility!

EM – E Mobility

Privat

Electric vehicles have a lower energy consumption level than conventional motor vehicles. A comparison of different vehicles has shown that a conventional motor vehicle has an efficiency of the order of 25% (tank to wheel), an electric vehicle has an efficiency of about 85% (plug to wheel).

The high loss of efficiency is explained by the high heat loss through internal combustion engines. Even when the efficiency losses in power stations (e-vehicles) and refineries (conventional vehicles) are taken into account, the comparison is clearly in favor of e-vehicles.

Another positive fact is the advantage in comparison with natural gas vehicles. If natural gas were used to generate electricity instead of burning it directly, an e-vehicle would cover approximately twice the path length by using the same energy consumption in an e-vehicle.

The introduction of 20% electric vehicles (about 1 million vehicles) into the Austrian market would save 8.4 TWh of energy. This corresponds to a contribution of approx. 37% to achieving the energy efficiency target for 2016.

Moreover, the stored energy of the batteries when the electric vehicle is not in use can returned to the electrical grid.

Electrically powered vehicles can be used like any other means of transportation.

From the luxury category to the small car, there is always the right model for the specific needs of the customer.

An example:

Generally, a Renault Zoe consumes 15 kWh of electricity per 100 km. At an electricity costs of 0.28 € / kWh, the energy costs for a driven kilometer are 4 € / ct.

A Renault Clio consumes 5,6 liters (combined) of gas per 100 km. At a gas price of 1.20 € / liter, the energy costs per kilometer here are 6.7 € / ct.

  • Gasoline wear parts: V-belt, engine oil, exhaust system, brake pads, oil filter, air filter, lambda probe, gear box.
  • E car wear parts: tires, mop / wiper blades, battery, brakes.

Taking into account the use of own photovoltaic electricity for e-mobility, the profitability is reaching very interesting levels, due to the fact that self-consumption increases the efficiency of PV systems with an amortisation period of less than 5 years.

The PV systems already built and paid, when used to charge E cars, are a real goldmine.

Free electric power replaces expensive fossil fuel.

PV systems safely supply electricity for up to 40 years, which can be used to charge electric vehicles.

E-mobility represents a revolution for the short and medium-range sector.

Costs are greatly reduced and the environment is protected.

Currently, e-cars are mainly used at the short to medium range level .

In the future, the long-haul will be very attractive due to a growing gas station network and shorter and shorter charging times.

  • With a high mileage per year and a long holding period, especially for cars and light commercial vehicles, the cost advantages over conventional vehicles can be achieved quickly.
  • Gasoline wear parts: V-belt, engine oil, exhaust system, brake pads, oil filter, air filter, lambda probe, gear box.

BMW

i 3

i3 is the first electric vehicle by BMW. It has an aluminum frame and a passenger seat made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic. The bodywork cover is made of plastic.

The interior has panels made of plant fibers and plastics from recycled materials and from renewable raw materials.

The driving performances of the little one are easily winning over, and the maximum speed of 150 km/h is completely enough. The range falls (with a calculated consumption of 12.9 kWh/100 km) with about 145 km fits perfectly into the short-distance category and offers plenty of power that propels forward.

AUDI

e-tron

Audi is working hard to develop the mobility of the future. There are so many challenges to face: urbanization, scarcity of resources, digitization and sustainability. Audi’s answer to the challenges of today and tomorrow is called Audi e-tron. The goal: CO₂-neutral mobility.

Right now, the e-tron fleet consists of two plug-in hybrid models. The Audi A3 Sportback e-tron¹ and the Audi Q7 e-tron quattro¹ provide low standard fuel consumption and high performances. In 2018, the next big thing will be released: a fully electric production vehicle by Audi. The two showcars are already offering a perspective on the future of electromobility as seen by the four-ring brand – the Audi e-tron quattro concept and the Audi e-tron Sportback concept, two important milestones of the e-tron Evolution.
